If you would like to visit us, we offer steam train rides to members of the public on the First Sunday of each month and most Bank Holiday Sundays from 13:30hrs until 17:00hrs (or dusk if earlier, in the winter months).
If you are interested in any of the gauges mentioned or any aspect of Model Engineering, then why not come along and have a look?
You will be welcome to any club meeting of your particular interest.
The various 'groups' meet on the following days:
Tuesday evenings - 'OO' gauge.
Thursday evenings - All 'live steam' and general Model Engineering interests.
Friday evenings - 'O' gauge and 'N' gauge.
All evening meetings commence at approximately 19:30hrs.
Additionally, we operate for members only (known as 'club running') on the Saturday following the first Sunday of each month.
Although 'club running' is for members only, you will still be welcome to visit to watch. The term 'members only' is used to stress that public running does not take place at these meetings. This allows members to bring along their locomotives to try them out, experiment or just to run them for fun! Those with '00' gauge interests also attend to to try out their latest models on the layout in the clubroom.
Each Wednesday, from 10:30hrs, a group of members turn up to carry out essential construction, maintenance and repair work to the tracks and premises. Without their hard work each week, other members would not be able to enjoy all of the facilities we now have. They are affectionately known as "The Wednesday Warriors"!
