For many years, various members have attended shows and fetes with portable track and given rides to hundreds of children (and adults). The money collected in fares was usually 'split' between the organisers and the RSME. This generated an additional source of income. This picture was taken at a fete at Stoneham School in the 70's.
Richard Cox can be seen giving the loco a much needed 'drink' of oil.
